There’s a reason for ready aim fire when discharging a weapon – to hit the target.  The 5 pillars are a way you Execute to hit your target – after you have Worked ON your business and now are ready to Work IN your business… (Please see Working On Your Business Quick Reference info under the ALL AGENCY Section):

a) Develop your STRATEGIC VISION, which should include your Business Plan/SWOT analysis – a defining of your Mission and Differentiation, an understanding of the market you are targeting (Market Analysis), and the range of their P&C needs (Price vs Value), and pain points (Tools you have to solve vs the Competition). 

b) Have the PEOPLE, Resources (capital and time), Knowledge (of quoting, issuing, ams, carrier differences, etc.), Licensing, and Carriers to do so.  

c) Developed your EXECUTION plan with quantitative targets for the sales cycle to reach your clearly defined goals. At this stage, when you are launching your new agency NOTHING is more important than having a healthy pipeline of leads and your ability to sell.   The well of Friends & Family is limited…
