Objective: In this topic you will learn how to navigate the EZLynx system, add applicants, the agency work space, search applicants, basic settings and carrier quoting set up.

Applicants: EZLynx uses the term “Applicant” to refer to any person or business that has ever been entered into EZLynx for any reason. This includes prospects, active or inactive clients, personal or commercial lines, etc….

EZPlugin: Install the EZPlugin The EZPlugin gives you quick access to carrier sites. It should be installed twice on each computer that will be used for EZLynx; once each from Chrome and Internet Explorer browsers. The installation button is located on your Dashboard Homepage.

Carrier Logins: In order to obtain Independent Carrier quotes, carrier logins must be set and kept up-to-date in EZLynx. Also, each time an agency adds a new Independent Carrier to their EZLynx Rating account, the carrier login must be set before quoting with the newly added carrier.

Carrier Defaults: Setting Carrier Defaults makes quoting faster! Every carrier has specific underwriting questions that must be answered within the EZLynx rating application in order to provide a quote. Carrier Defaults allow EZLynx users to set answers to the carriers’ underwriting questions – these default answers then automatically prefill into NEW applications. This makes quoting faster! There is no need to physically select answers to these questions since they prefill from the carrier defaults. Better yet, the user can change the prefilled answers in an application at any time, if desired. When completing a quoting application within EZLynx, it is very important to enter the correct agent/producer code. The agent/producer code determines where our system places the quote on the carrier site. Therefore, if an incorrect code is entered in EZLynx, the user won’t be able to find the quote on the carrier site.
