AGENT,

Homeowners of America remains committed to you as an agency partner. To be there for our insureds who rely on us in their time of need, we continually evaluate the performance of our products amid changing market conditions.

Texas has had a number of severe weather events in 2021 including tropical storms, several large hail storms, and Winter Storm Uri. Unfortunately, our current rates did not account for a catastrophic event like Uri, nor the continued hardening of reinsurance markets. As a way to manage these costs, we are implementing a +16.6% overall rate adjustment.

This is a targeted rate change affecting certain territories and other risk characteristics. The +16.6% reflects the overall average change as some insureds will receive slightly more than 16.6%, while others may receive equal to or less than 16.6%.

Please note that the effective dates for these changes are noted above. Feel free to contact your Territory Sales Manager or our Underwriting Department if you have any questions.

Thank you for your support as we strive to offer competitive and profitable products in Texas.
